VMware administrator provides a high level of technical expertise and support, experienced and knowledgeable on Windows server and desktop OSs, networking devices, Active Directory, DNS, storage systems (EMC), SQL Server, Citrix, and VMWare.
Responsibilities for VMware administrator- Ability to identify and communicate Escalations to other teams.
- Ensure full mission capability for client server infrastructure
- Perform upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
- Develop and maintain vCenter Orchestrator automated workflows
- Establish and maintain service levels
- Collaborate with IT personnel to prepare and maintain incident response, disaster recovery and business continuity plans and procedures
- Maintain enterprise servers and perform hardware and software maintenance operations including installation, configuration and support of server hardware, software and data backup and disaster recovery
- Proactively monitor and tune server performance
- Perform Windows server administration and maintenance
- Design, troubleshoot and maintain enterprise virtualization platforms
Qualifications for VMware administrator- Deployed key VMware ESX/ESXI technologies, expertise with HA/DRS, P2V
- Extensive in VMware ESXI and VMSERVER Server Farms
- Solid knowledge of all versions of Windows operating systems
- Install, configure and maintain VMware ESXi & vCenter servers of version 4.1, 5.1, 5.5 and 6.0
- Troubleshooting and RCA of VMware infrastructure.
- Performance analysis and tuning of VMware infrastructure.
- Creation, migration, cloning, snapshots, backup, recovery and troubleshooting of Virtual machines
- Experience in P2V, VMotion and VMware virtual center.
- Good hands on command line of ESX.
- Good hands on Experience in diagnostics & troubleshooting of ESX server environment.
- Good understanding of HA and DRS environment.
- Experience in performance tuning of VMWare servers and Virtual sessions and management of servers' resources between virtual machines
- Work in normal office environment
- Experienced in Citrix Xen Desktop 4,5.x platforms
- Experience in MNC for minimum 5 yrs
- VMware Certification is appreciated.(not mandatory)
- Must possess good interpersonal & Communication skills.
- Graduation in any stream.
- This job will require working in night shift.
